Introduction To FPL Scoring and Settlement

Updated over 4 months ago

FPL (Fantasy Premier League) scoring rewards goals, assists, and clean sheets, with the Bonus Points System (BPS) awarding additional points to top performers in a match.

How Points Are Awarded:

  • Goals: Awarded to players for scoring goals.

  • Assists: Awarded to players for providing the final pass before a goal is scored.

  • Saves: Awarded to goalkeepers and defenders for making saves.

  • Clean Sheets: Awarded to players who complete a match without conceding a goal, typically with a minimum number of minutes played.

  • Bonus Points System (BPS): A set of statistical criteria that awards bonus points to the three best-performing players in a match.

Key Aspects of FPL Scoring

  • Captain's Double Points: You must select a captain, whose score is doubled for the Gameweek.

  • Vice-Captain: If your captain doesn't play, the double points are transferred to your vice-captain.

  • Substitutions: If a starting player doesn't play, the points from the first player on your bench (in order of preference) will automatically be transferred to your starting XI.

  • Gameweek: The period in which all football matches take place and your team accumulates points for that week.

Transfers and Chips

  • Free Transfers: You receive one free transfer each week to make changes to your squad.

  • Chips: Each of the four main chips (Wildcard, Bench Boost, Triple Captain, Free Hit) can be used twice in the 2025/26 season, once in each half of the campaign.
