Common withdrawal issues and how to fix them

Updated over a week ago

Withdrawals are usually smooth, but here are a few issues you might encounter and the fixes:

1. Pending withdrawals: If you have a withdrawal pending for more than an hour, kindly reach out to our support with the following information:

  • Your Gowagr linked account.

  • The transaction reference as seen on the app.

2. Failed or Reversed withdrawals: This could be due to a transfer limit from your bank, network issues or bank downtime.

What to do;

Wait for the reversal to reflect in your Gowagr wallet, this is an automatic process. If the reversal isn’t done automatically after withdrawal failed, kindly reach out to support with your email address and the transaction reference.

3. Inability to withdraw due to account restrictions: There are three common restriction types and how to handle each:

a. Incomplete KYC verification: Your identity verification is important to prevent fraud and identity theft, meet financial regulations and ensure smooth transactions. You are required to complete your KYC verification in the app for withdrawals to be enabled.

b. Name Mismatch: This is when the name on your Gowagr account does not match the name on the bank account you are trying to withdraw into.

What to do;

  • Complete KYC verification. This should automatically update your profile.

  • If your profile is not updated after KYC verification, reach out to support with

    • The email address attached to your Gowagr account;

    • A clear photo of your KYC document (preferably your NIN) showing your full name arrangement;

    • A receipt of a recent deposit into your Gowagr wallet showing the name arrangement on your bank account.

c. Suspended Account: This is most likely due to your account being flagged or violating a policy. In this case, contact support to understand the reason and whether it can be resolved. You will be guided on the next steps.
